Jamie Carragher has admitted he tried and failed to convince Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to join Liverpool before his move to Arsenal in 2011.
“Tried to persuade Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to join Liverpool when he was a kid, obviously [Jurgen] Klopp is more persuasive,” he wrote on Twitter.
“Interested how he gets him into central midfield after Sunday!”
Oxlade-Chamberlain is said to have turned down a £180,000-a-week new deal at Arsenal in favour of a move to Anfield.
